Scope

These terms apply to the use of Your Fridge – Five Recipes by consumers and other users, unless mandatory legal rules provide otherwise.

The app is provided for iPhone only. It requires Sign in with Apple; pure guest accounts without Apple sign-in are not intended.

Service description

Your Fridge – Five Recipes creates recipe ideas from food items detected in a photo or from a manually edited ingredient list. The typical flow consists of taking a photo, detecting ingredients, user review of ingredients, recipe generation and optional recipe images.

The app does not owe a specific detection rate, recipe quality, permanent AI availability or culinary result. Results may be incomplete, unsuitable or incorrect and must be checked by the user.

Free use and in-app purchase

At launch, the app may provide a limited number of free scans. Additional scans may then be purchased through a consumable in-app purchase.

A scan package is currently intended as the only purchase option. Price, package size and local currency are displayed in the App Store or purchase dialog. The information shown by Apple before purchase is decisive.

Payment processing is handled by Apple. Apple's terms also apply to refunds, payment data and App Store purchase processes. After successful verification, the provider credits the purchased scans to the user account.

Availability and technical limits

The app depends on internet connectivity, Apple services, backend availability and external analysis or image-generation services. Temporary outages, maintenance, rate limits or response delays may occur.

The provider may adapt, improve, restrict or temporarily disable features where necessary for security, stability, cost control, abuse prevention or technical development.

User obligations

• Upload only lawful content owned by the user or authorized for processing.
• Do not photograph unnecessary personal data such as people, identity documents, health documents or confidential documents.
• Independently check ingredients, quantities, allergens, shelf life, freshness, cooking times and food safety.
• Do not abuse the app, submit automated mass requests or circumvent technical safeguards.
• Protect access to the Apple account and the user's iPhone appropriately.

Food, allergens and health

Recipe suggestions are general cooking ideas and not medical, allergological, dietary or nutritional advice. Users must check whether ingredients are suitable for them.

The app does not reliably detect spoilage, germs, allergens, intolerances or safe core temperatures. Food must be checked by the user before use.

Liability

The provider is liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health and where mandatory law applies.

In cases of simple negligence, the provider is liable only for breach of material contractual obligations and limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Material obligations are obligations whose fulfilment enables proper use of the app and on whose compliance users may regularly rely.

Liability for incorrect recipe suggestions, incorrect ingredient assumptions, individual intolerances, allergies, spoiled food or improper preparation is excluded to the extent permitted by law and unless the provider is liable under the preceding rules.

Changes to these terms

The provider may amend these terms with future effect where required due to technical, legal or economic changes. For already completed in-app purchases, the terms applicable at the time of purchase remain relevant unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

Consumer dispute resolution

The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/

The provider is not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Applicable law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which a consumer has their habitual residence remain unaffected.
